Electrospaces.net: The phones of Ukrainian president Zelensky #world #technology #ukraine

Ever since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, Ukrainian president Zelensky bravely leads his country in the fight against the Russian armed forces. As in any war, communications are of vital importance here too.

Among Zelensky's communication systems are some interesting telephone sets, which he also uses for frequent phone calls to foreign leaders, while there are separate secure phones for calling US president Biden.

Kaspersky Is Declared A US National Security Threat And Is Banned By The FCC #security #software

Kaspersky, a cybersecurity and antivirus company, appears in our news coverage fairly often, as the company’s researchers frequently uncover and disclose noteworthy vulnerabilities and malware. Earlier this month, we covered a gas pump hack that called to mind a vulnerability previously discovered by Kaspersky. Before that, we published coverage of a persistent Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) malware that Kaspersky dubbed MoonBounce. Kaspersky’s effort to track and expose malicious apps in the Google Play Store has also appeared in our news coverage relatively recently.

Today Google is turning on activity tracking for many users that previously turned it off. #privacy #software

Google Workspace admins can no longer deactivate activity tracking for their users, Google says this is helping people.

Effective today, Google is changing its Workspace Settings, including a change that activates activity tracking for all users of Google Workspace accounts even if the organizations admin disabled activity tracking for all users previously. What is more, admins can no longer control this setting for their users, but all users need to invidually toggle the tracking off again.

News: Russian Civil Aviation Authority Rosaviatsia offline #security #internet #war

Aviation Sources in Russia report that Rosaviatsia fell victim to a hacker attack started on last Saturday (Mar 26th 2022), which wiped out their entire database and files consisting of 65 Terabytes of data including e-mail of 1.5 years, documents, aircraft registration data ... No backup of these data exists due to lack of funds allocated by Russia's Ministry of Finance. Rosaviatsia blames the success of the hacker attack (presumably carried out by the Anonymous Hacking Group) onto their contractor hired to maintain their IT-structure. Prosecution office as well as secret service are investigating since Saturday. Official statements like a change of head of the agency are incorrect, the head of the agency is still in office.
